Bayraktar TB3 Teams Up with KALKAN VTOL to Hit Its Target TurDef
Bayraktar TB3 STOL UCAV hit a target with MAM-L glide munition, designated provided by KALKAN VTOL UAV fitted with Baykar’s own BG-180 EO system during a test.

The recent munition test for the Bayraktar TB3 LHD/Carrier-capable UCAV saw a team-up with Baykar’s KALKAN VTOL UAV developed to support ISR capabilities.

KALKAN VTOL, fitted with the BG180 EO system with five kilometer laser designation range, acted as a remote sensor for Bayraktar TB3, which launched a MAM-L laser-guided glide munition. The video shared by Baykar also shows that the test was conducted by a Bayraktar TB2 fitted with an ASELFLIR 500 EO/IR system.

Baykar’s new K2 kamikaze UAVs offering a new approach completed a flight test involving autonomous swarm flight and air patrol, accompanied by an AKINCI UCAV.

The recent flight test with K2 kamikaze UAVs included swarm formation tests and a simulated air patrol mission, with an AKINCI UCAV seen to be leading the pack.

The presence of AKINCI UCAV suggests that K2 is not only planned to act as a swarm of one type, but something that works in conjunction with Baykar’s other platforms. It was previously discussed that K2 might become a stand-off weapon for TCG Anadolu (L400) LHD, with its STOL capability shared by Bayraktar TB3 which can potentially coordinate K2s.

On the other hand, simulated air patrol during the test hints at experiments with swarm capabilities that might be incorporated into the KIZILELMA unmanned fighter, as a kamikaze UAV does not typically perform this mission.

ANTIDOT 2-U/ES 100 support pod and ANTIDOT 2-U/EA 200 attack pod for UCAVs have been used in tandem against a shipborne radar during an exercise.

ASELSAN [BIST:ASELS] stated in its 2025 activity report that its newer and more potent UAV-based EW pods ANTIDOT 2-U/ES 100 and ANTIDOT 2-U/EA 200 have been used in tandem to jam a shipborne radar during a naval exercise successfully.

ANTIDOT 2-U/ES 100 is an electronic support pod available to UAVs ranging from Bayraktar TB2 to AKINCI. The pod provides comprehensive ELINT/SIGINT capabilities with a weight of 30 kg and a power consumption of 400 W.

ANTIDOT 2-U/EA is a larger and more powerful follow-up to the ANTIDOT 2-U 100/120/130 mini electronic warfare pods developed for Bayraktar TB2 armed UAV. Weighing 45 kg, with power consumption of 1100 W, the pod can perform DFRM-based jamming against multiple targets in a wide band and angular coverage.

Both pods are in service with Türkiye and an undisclosed export customer that has acquired the pods shortly after the former.

ASELSAN has completed the design work and continued production and testing for the electronic warfare systems to be used on UAVs for the UAV SOJ programme.

ASELSAN’s [BIST:ASELS] 2025 activity report includes a milestone for the UAV SOJ programme as the completion of design work for ASOJ 2-U electronic support system and ASOJ 34-U electronic attack system.

Following the ANTIDOT family of electronic warfare pods for UAVs, UAV SOJ will provide dedicated UAVs with broader coverage and higher electronic attack output.

ASOJ 2-U and ASOJ 34-U combine communication and radar coverage for support and attack functions, respectively. AKSUNGUR is set to be the electronic support leg, while AKINCI, with higher power generation, is intended as the electronic attack leg for the UAV SOJ programme.

In tandem with HAVA SOJ, UAV SOJ-configured UAVs will expand the coverage for the Turkish Air Force’s airborne electronic warfare capabilities and provide persistence thanks to the endurance of UAVs.

Es ist mun offiziell, der Einsatzradius der Anka-3 beträgt 750 km. Die Waffenzuladekspazität des UCAV beträgt 1700 kg, die Waffen können intern und extern getragen werden.

TUSAŞ interactively displayed air-to-surface and air-to-air loadout options for the ANKA-III stealth UCAV alongside mission profiles, providing a deeper view.

TUSAŞ’s digital and interactive booth for its products at SAHA EXPO 2026, which sets an example in terms of providing a more compact form of display for the visitors, includes a detailed section for ANKA-III that includes mission profiles and loadout options.

ANKA-III has three mission profiles shown at SAHA EXPO 2026: Strike, Air Dominance, and Maritime Strike. Sensors available to ANKA-III -from ASELSAN [BIST:ASELS] - will be TOYGUN EOTS for strike missions, while KARAT IRST and MURAD 100-A will be used for air-to-air missions. Additionally, the maximum payload has been updated to 1700 kg, which was previously stated as 1200 kg.
