Iran's original seven Su-25K/UBKs were flown to Iran from Iraq in 1991 as the multinational Operation 'Desert Storm' force gathered on Iraq's southern border in response to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Air Force (IRGCAF) then purchased three Su-25UBK two-seat combat trainers and three Su-25T anti-tank aircraft from Russia and deliveries of these have been completed. With its maximum combat load of 4,340 kg, the type now plays an important role in supporting the IRGC's rapid-reaction doctrine. It is foremost intended to provide direct air support to ground troops.
The IRGCAF is considering the purchase of more advanced variants, including the Su-25TM (Su-39), optimised for attacks on ground and naval targets in daylight, but also at night, using precision-guided munitions. However, current political circumstances may make this procurement difficult.

Ich denke das der Iran Technisch und Militärische, noch nicht so weit für ein Krieg ist!
Sie besitzen nur etwa 300 Maschinen und nur 1600 Panzer und fast genau so viel an Artillerie, und eine Taktik kann ich auch nicht erkennen, bei einem Manöver fuhren die Panzer in Gerader Linien auf eine Stellung zu.....
Ich würde, eine Armee aufbauen so mit 10000 Panzer und 6000 Maschinen und 10000 Artillerie Geschützte!
Wenn sie das haben, können sie auch anfangen zu Pokern mit der US Regierung, davor würde ich schön alles hinaus schieben und ich hätte auch, das Angebot der Russen angenommen, um Mini AKW,S zu bauen!
Korea hat es vor gemacht, das man mit den Arbeitern Hand in Hand die Republik zum siege führt!

Was meinst du mit 6000 Maschinen? Etwa Flugzeuge? Die USA mit ganz anderen industriellen und finanziellen Vorraussetzungen kommen nicht auf solche Zahlen.

Ich sehe nicht, wie sie dann 1000 US Flugzeuge abschießen könnten.
Ich sehe auch eine falsche Politik von Seiten Irans, als die Zeit gut war, so in den 90,s da hätte man die Taliban zu Verbündeten machen sollen, somit hätte man eine bessere Ausgangs Lage, aber jetzt ist Iran umzingelt von den Amis, man hat sich zu Passiv verhalten in den 90,s.
Wie würde eine Verteidigung Taktik aussehen, mit den wenigen Mitteln die sie haben?

Some analysts predict that Iran could acquire a nuclear weapon as early as 2006. As of mid-2003 the CIA reportedly assessed that Iran was two or three years away from developing nuclear weapons. IAEA head Mohamed ElBaradei told Der Spiegel 21 February 2005 that if Iran was determined to have nuclear weapons - as the US believes it is - it was “likely to have a bomb in two or three years”. These estimates would seem rather pessimistic. A more realistic date would seem to be around 2010.

Monday, September 3rd is Labor Day 2007, the notional beginning of the 2008 Presidential campaign. If the White House is politically risk averse with reference to striking Iran, the weeks before Labor Day might mark the last opportune moment to do the deed before the Presidential campaign gets under way.

The US presidential election of 2008 is scheduled to occur on November 4, 2008. If the White House judges that military strikes would rally the country around the President and his party, it would argue for timing strikes as little as a week before the election, a pre-planned October Surprise.

The new President is innaugurated. Depending on political calculation, a final window of opportunity to strike Iran opens during the transition from the old President the new. If Bush judged that his incoming successor lacked the resolve to take the neccessary action, or if it were judged that blaming Bush would ease the way of the new President, there might be arguments for striking after the election but before the innauguration.

Schwachsinn sich mit der Taliban einzulassen diese Wahabitischen Exremisten darf man nicht mal eines Blickes würdigen. Wieso sollte der shiitische Iran mit so zurückgebliebenen Unterdrückern zusammenarbeiten die einen komplett falschen Islam predigen und auch noch shiiten als größten Feind erklären
Der Irak als zukünftiger Verbündeter ist da schon logischer und wahrscheinlicher und mir und den anderen Iranern auch lieber.
