STM has signed its second export contract for the KARGU rotary-wing loitering munition system fitted with an armour-piercing warhead, marking another milestone in the UAV’s growing global footprint. Following extensive testing and successful deployment of the upgraded warhead, the system continues to attract international buyers.
KARGU, also known as a “kamikaze UAV”, entered the Turkish Armed Forces inventory in 2018 and has since proven effective in counter-terrorism and cross-border operations. The armour-piercing version, developed last year, is designed to destroy armoured land vehicles and fortified structures while maintaining the original’s anti-personnel effectiveness. It has now secured its second international customer after an initial export deal signed months earlier.
With more than ten countries across three continents already operating KARGU, STM is positioning the system as a versatile, portable, and AI-enabled loitering munition capable of responding to evolving battlefield needs. KARGU allows operators to swap out its warhead in the field, shifting between anti-personnel and armour-piercing payloads as the mission requires.

TUSAŞ Engine Industries (TEI) demonstrated its military and commercial propulsion systems at the Paris Air Show in 2025. The show took place at Le Bourget Airport from June 16 to 22.
The business showed off Türkiye's first jet engine, the TF6000, as well as the TS1400 turboshaft engine that powers the T625 GÖKBEY helicopter, the PD170 turbodiesel engine for drones, and its line of small turbojets.
TEI also highlighted its capabilities in producing engine parts and modules for international programmes, including next-generation single crystal components currently in serial production. These components enable uninterrupted power generation in the engine’s hottest sections.
According to information obtained by TurDef, development tests on the TF6000 have demonstrated continued high performance even above the target temperature range using uncooled single crystal blades.

The system is designed with sensor fusion through elements like radar/barometric altimeters and steerable lasers.
The application might be expanded to include other aircraft, especially unmanned ones, which are more susceptible to GNSS jamming compared to manned aircraft.

In the test, two Kemankeş 1 jet-powered loitering munitions performed simulated interceptions on targets carried by quadcopter UAVs.
Kemankeş 1, with a range of 150+ km and a warhead weighing 5 kg, is mainly intended against soft-skinned surface targets, especially those in contested environments. Additionally, the onboard gimbal optical system with laser rangefinder allows for alternative use as a deployable ISR asset.

Songar armed UAV of Asisguard has been integrated and fire-tested with MKE’s triple mortar round apparatus for 81 mm rounds to allow multiple engagements.
Songar’s latest weapon option is the triple rack for dropping 81 mm mortar rounds nose-down. The integration is a joint work with MKE. In the firing test, Songar successfully scored a direct hit on a small target with the mortar round. An automatic target recognition feature is also seen in the test footage included in the weekly summary published by SSB.
Songar can take off from land or 4x4 vehicles fitted with a carriage platform, as demonstrated by BMC on the Amazon 4x4 tactical wheeled vehicle.

Songar has been fitted with a variety of weapons to answer different fire support needs. The options include a 5.56 mm machine gun, 40 mm grenade launchers (Single-shot or revolving types), 40 mm mini rockets, and an Eren miniature laser weapon (Intended against IEDs).

Idealab Unveils Jet-Powered UAV Design Prior to IDEF25
Turkish Idealab has unveiled its jet-powered Wildgoose UAV for various types of missions on its page for the IDEF25 defence exhibition to be held in Istanbul.
Wildgoose will serve as an ISR and attack platform, adopting a delta wing layout. The UAV will be powered by Idealab’s IL-600 turbojet engine, which puts out 600 N of thrust.
No specifications are given on the Wildgoose yet. Still, it can be assumed from the use of a turbojet engine that it will have a higher cruise speed compared to propeller-driven UAVs of similar configuration. This would also mean a range of hundreds of kilometres when used as a kamikaze UAV.

ASSAN General Manager Gürcan Okumuş stated that the firm will exhibit its hybrid powerpack for military vehicles, putting out 1000 hp of power in IDEF25.
Gürcan Okumuş, mentioning the shift towards hybrid powerpacks for military vehicles, announced that ASSAN will display its 1000 hp powerpack for military vehicles during the IDEF25 defence exhibition to be held in Istanbul. Okumuş underlined that the IP rights of the powerpack belong to ASSAN.
With this, ASSAN has joined the club of hybrid powerpack developers in Turkiye; which consists of FNSS, Tümosan, ASELSAN, and MKE.
The 1000 hp powerpack can power IFVs and SPGs of identical weight class when the usual engine power range of such vehicles is considered.
ASSAN has been taking part in the production of powerpack components for various military vehicles, including combat vehicles. Thus, this represents a goal to go further towards new generation powerpacks in complete form and become a supplier in future projects, which are likely to involve hybrid powerpacks rather than full-on internal combustion ones.

ROKETSAN’s BURÇ mobile low-altitude air defence system has made its first appearance with a new turret and weaponry at the parade for the IDEF25’s first day.
The new iteration of BURÇ features a trimmed-down turret with the four AESA radars being moved to a static position to accommodate new weapon systems.
While the sensor layout is largely the same, the weapon loadout is equally different.
The first iteration of BURÇ was shown with a 20 mm triple-barrel rotary cannon and eight SUNGUR air defence missiles. However, the new turret replaces four of the SUNGUR missiles with two LEVENT missiles, which have a longer range at 11 km and the 20 mm rotary cannon with a 30x113 mm revolver cannon (Likely VENOM LR of Canik).
The new configuration of BURÇ could be described as a three-layer system where LEVENT engages more difficult targets at longer ranges while SUNGUR is retained for general use. On the other hand, the 30x113 mm revolver cannon’s ability to fire proximity fuse ammunition gives it a significant edge over the 20 mm rotary cannon when it comes to hitting UAVs.

Baykar has put KIZILELMA unmanned fighter on display with onboard IRST, EOTS, and DAS systems to show the other sensor provisions at the IDEF25 exhibition.
This marks the first exhibition of KIZILELMA, with the intended optical sensors being developed by ASELSAN. TOYGUN 100 is being developed as an EOTS, while KARAT 100 is being developed as an IRST for various low-observable manned/unmanned aircraft.
KARAT 100’s placement coinciding with the radome either means it will be an alternative sensor to the radar, or it is just a tentative placement.
Due to the starting point of both optical sensors being low-observable aircraft, they have diamond-like shapes to keep the RCS low, which is a characteristic seen on F-35’s own EOTS as well.
Considering KIZILELMA’s emphasis on air-to-air capabilities, KARAT 100 will be a critical component, especially to detect low RCS air threats in addition to the MURAD 200-A AESA radar. On the other hand, targeting capabilities and the HD MWIR camera of TOYGUN 100 will be important for air-to-ground missions.
KIZILELMA’s tests are ongoing with the third and fourth prototypes, which incorporate design optimisations and AI-322 series afterburning turbofan engines (To be succeeded by indigenous alternatives like TEI TF10000).

After the successful firing tests of the UAV-230 based on TRG-230 and UAV-122 based on TRG-122, ROKETSAN unveiled the 300 ER aeroballistic missile as the next step.
Intended for fighter jets and UCAVs, 300 ER can reach a range of 500+ km, depending on launch conditions, which goes way beyond the range of UAV-230 at 150+ km. Of course, this much difference in range would also mean 300 ER can reach equally higher speeds, perhaps approaching the hypersonic regime due to the air launch trajectory.
The missile, weighing 900 kg and measuring five meters in length, will likely carry a warhead larger than the TRG-300 guided artillery rocket, as 300 ER has a diameter of 370 mm despite the naming. Thus, a warhead weighing more than 150 kg can be assumed, judging from artillery rockets of the same diameter.

ROKETSAN has unveiled the EREN jet-powered loitering munition, combining light weight, long range, and multiple target sets in one package, during IDEF25.
EREN was featured in a teaser prior to the exhibition, from which TurDef predicted it as a jet-powered loitering munition that can engage both surface and air targets. The unveiling ceremony has confirmed these predictions with the anti-air capabilities, including slow-flying aircraft.
The munition’s specifications are a range of 100+ km, a weight of 35 kg, and an endurance of 15+ minutes. The guidance is provided by an optical seeker. Looking more like a missile, EREN is focused on speed rather than endurance, with the loitering capability serving as a way to have a window to pick the right time to dive in.
While it has a range value outside the range of any medium-range air defence system, its weight of 35 kg is lower than even that of the UMTAS anti-tank missile.
EREN can be launched from a variety of platforms, including aircraft, armoured vehicles, and containerised launchers.

ROKETSAN has unveiled its solid fuel ramjet-powered GÖKBORA as its first air-to-air missile at IDEF25 defence exhibition, making a grand entry into the market.
Due to ROKETSAN not having developed an air-to-air missile before and the presence of folding fins, the ramjet-powered missile from the teaser was thought to be a surface-launched missile. However, the unveiling ceremony has taken a twist with the missile turning out to be a beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile (BVRAAM).
During the exhibition, a deal was signed to develop the AGRAS 3101/AA AESA RF seeker for the missile between ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, and SSB. This marks the first AESA seeker to be developed in Türkiye.
AESA seekers on air-to-air missiles were first implemented by Japan on the AAM-4 BVRAAM. They saw their first action during the brief conflict between Pakistan and India, by Pakistan utilising the Chinese PL-15 BVRAAMs..
TurDef learned during the exhibition that the missile would be fire tested after IDEF25, and ROKETSAN has been working on the boron-based solid fuel ramjet technology at least since 2009. Thus, despite the sudden appearance of GÖKBORA, this could be said to have been a work of a long term.
